Dr Rianne Sewell
MRCGP DRCOG DFFP (Amsterdam 1993)
Dr Sewell works full time in the practice. She takes a special interest in heart disease and women’s health and is the Child Protection lead for the practice. She takes responsibility in the practice for clinical governance, staff issues and is the Practice representative for the Taunton Central Primary Care Network.
Dr David Yick
B Med Sci BM BS (Nottingham 1996) DFFP MRCP MRCGP
Dr Yick works full time in the practice and takes a special interest in diabetes and psychiatry. He is the practice lead for information technology and information governance.
Dr Paulomi Talapatra
MBBS MD (India)
Dr Talapatra has been working at Quantock vale surgery since August 2023. Dr Talapatra qualified as a doctor in India and undertook her specialist GP training in Wells (Somerset). She has a specialist interest in rheumatology and works one day in Musgrove park hospital in the rheumatology department.
Our Nursing Staff
Lucy Reed
RGN
Lucy joined the nursing team in 2024 and has 15 years of ITU experience at Musgrove. Lucy will be our Diabetic nurse after she has completed a qualification with the surgery.
Sue Hawthorne
Sister Sue joined in 2015 and is involved in all aspects of general practice nursing. Sue performs the NHS health checks and also specialises in respiratory medicine.
RGN & Clinical Lead Nurse
Samantha Searle
Sam joined the team in 2021 and is a phlebotomist. She has worked mainly in Musgrove park hospital prior to moving to general practice. Sam is responsible for phlebotomy but is also expanding her skills in performing ECGs and blood pressure checks within the surgery.

Chris Gregory
Chris previously worked in A&E and Taunton Vale Surgery. He completed his paramedic training prior to beginning his career in primary care. Chris runs a minor illness clinic and sees our patients with acute problems. He is qualified to diagnose, prescribe and refer.
Associated Staff
Associated staff are not employed by the practice but are based in the surgery to provide care for our patients.
Musculoskeletal practitioner
Chris Edwards and Megan Adcock are a musculoskeletal practitioners whom are working at the surgery as a result of funding from the Taunton central primary care network. Chris and Megan are able to help patients with their orthopaedic problems on a Monday and Wednesday respectively.

Please contact the District Nursing team if you require community nursing input especially if you are housebound. If you are new to the District Nursing team then you may need a referral from your GP.
Health Visitor 0300 3230115
The Health Visitor covers our practice area and works with children under five and their parents.
Pharmacist
Valeriu Popa works at the surgery Monday to Wednesday. He can review medication, prescribe alternatives to a currently prescribed medication and see patients for acute illness.
