The Dispensary

Quantock vale surgery dispensary.

Tel: 01823 432361 choose extension 3

Quantock vale surgery has an attached dispensary. It is in the same space that was previously occupied by the pharmacy (Lydeard care Ltd). As a dispensary, it can only process prescriptions from patients registered at Quantock vale surgery and who live 1 mile away from any pharmacy (please see the bottom of the page). This means the majority of our patients whom live in Norton Fitzwarren are unable to use our dispensary. The dispensary doesn’t sell “over the counter” remedies and there isn’t a pharmacist present to give advice. If you have any medication queries please contact the main GP surgery.

The dispensary is staffed by Hannah who is the dispensary manager, Holly, Leila and Michelle. Most patients will recognise the dispensary staff as they previously worked in the pharmacy. The dispensary utilises software (Titan) and hardware (Barcode scanners) to ensure safe and accurate dispensing of your medication.

When you receive a prescription from your doctor, you are not obliged to take it to the dispensary. Most patients however find it convenient to do so. If you would prefer your prescriptions to be processed by an alternative pharmacy, please inform the clinician or the surgery of your wishes. Since 2019 the surgery sends your prescription electronically to be processed.

Please allow sufficient time for your medication to be dispensed.  We will send your prescription into the dispensary/pharmacy to be actioned but it may need to be ordered. For repeat regular medication, we advise you to order your medications 5 working days in advance to ensure its availability.

New Opening Times

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Pharmacist Simon Powell and all the previous employees of the pharmacy for dedication and hard work over the last 25 years. We hope Simon and his wife have a happy retirement and the surgery wishes him every success in his next adventures.
