The Pharmacy

Lydeard Care Ltd (Bishops Lydeard Pharmacy)

Tel: 01823 430201

The doctors extended the building and added a pharmacy to the surgery in 2000. It is a separate business to Quantock Vale Surgery, owned by Lydeard Care Limited.

The Pharmacy is run by Simon Powell, Superintendent Pharmacist and his team of dispensers. The Pharmacy has an Information Leaflet which gives details of the services offered, the opening times and where to find information when the Pharmacy is closed. The leaflet is available from The Pharmacy.

When you receive a prescription from your doctor, you are not obliged to take it to the Bishops Lydeard Pharmacy. Most patients find it convenient to do so, but if you would prefer to take it to another pharmacy, when you order your repeat prescription at the surgery, please tell the prescriptions receptionist and she will leave it at reception for you to collect. Since 2019 the surgery can now send your prescription electronically to an alternative pharmacy. Please let the pharmacy or the GP surgery know if you prefer this to happen. Click here for a leaflet relating to EPS

Please allow sufficient time for your medication to be dispensed.  We will send your prescription into the Pharmacy to be actioned but Simon may need to order in the medication. As a result he may need additional time to dispense it. We advise you order your medications 5 working days in advance to ensure its availability. You may be surprised to learn that the Pharmacy dispenses about 10,000 items a month, or 350 items a day. With such a high number of prescriptions being dispensed, please accept that you may have to wait for your medications when you come in to collect them.

Opening Times

 Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 18:00
